Back in 1999, I remember going to see The Iron Giant when it was released in theaters. Using a mixture of traditional 2D and 3D CG animation, the resultant film was beautifully crafted and quite haunting with it. So the lack of a Blu-ray release for many years felt like a major oversight but now, finally, the Iron Giant has come home.
