Yesterday, the United States Navy celebrated its 241st birthday and it’s about to (officially) get its hands on a serious present. After years of anticipation, the first state-of the-art Zumwalt class destroyer will be commissioned into the fleet at a ceremony in Baltimore tomorrow. Set to be commanded by Captain James Kirk, the USS Zumwalt will be the largest and most technologically sophisticated destroyer in U.S. Navy history.
