The Federal Aviation Administration updated its guidance for passengers flying with Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices.  Previously, the FAA had issued a strong warning to airline travelers not to turn on or charge these devices on board aircraft and not to stow them in checked baggage.   In its updated warning the FAA stated: ” In response to an October 10, 2016 statement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission and following a recent decision by Samsung to suspend global sales of all Galaxy Note 7 devices, the urges passengers to power down, and not use, charge or stow in checked baggage, all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices, including recalled and replacement devices.”  Samsung had earlier issued a press release stating: “We are working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place.”
