If you have a love for the water and put a premium on freedom and mobility, owning a yacht can be an alluring proposition. But lets face it. Boats regardless of size are generally not the best investments. With high operating and maintenance costs, slip fees, and depreciation, purchasing something that you may only use a few times a month (or a year) may not go over well with your financial planner.
