Anyone living in Great Britain couldn’t possibly have failed to notice that successive governments have been agitating to shut down the FM radio spectrum for some years and have attempted to push consumers towards Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) instead. The aim of the policy was to close down FM broadcasting and possibly auction off the spectrum for other uses or maybe reserve the FM band for local radio stations. The problem is that the take-up of DAB radio hasn’t been as swift and as widespread as had been hoped.
