Macy’s was founded in 1858, and has a long and storied history. It may come as a surprise that in recent years, Macy’s has been in the throes of a significant digital transformation. The person leading it is Yasir Anwar, who is the Senior Vice President, Head of Digital Technology at the company. Anwar’s purview includes all digital facets of the business, both internally and externally. These include Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s websites and web applications, as well as aspects of digital inside the company’s stores. He also runs the project management organization for the company.
