Apple’s iPhone 7 and 7 Plus went on sale officially last Friday (September 16) and almost immediately, the phone sold out around the world. In Hong Kong, it’s become virtually impossible to buy a black or jet black iPhone 7 Plus through official channels, even if you ordered way in advance. I know, because I placed my order, along with a HK$500 deposit, to a major phone retailer way back in early September. I still don’t have the phone, and according to fellow local netizens on popular forums who are in the same boat, it’s unlikely we’ll get one anytime soon. They are completely out of stock. (And as Forbes’ Ewan Spence noted, this problem seems to extend to North America and Europe as well)
