Billinaire PayPal founder Peter Thiel told an audience in Chicago this week that all the ‘very talented people’ either move to New York or Silicon Valley. In a tech scene that prides itself on the democratization of ideas, Thiel’s comments show a close-minded condescension that ignores the very real innovations coming from the Midwest and other non-New York and California parts of the country.
