Ocado, the only ‘supermarket’ without bricks and mortar stores in the UK, delivered some half-decent numbers in its trading statement today. But the UK grocery sector is brutally competitive and the firm “faces challenges on multiple fronts” according one London broker, leaving it open to a takeover and following a 14% share price plunge.
