Since 2010, marketplace loan origination has doubled annually in the U.S. to $12 billion in 2014, according to Morgan Stanley. Over the last three years, there has been a substantial increase in the global involvement of marketplace lending, especially in the UK, China and Australia. Expect this trend is expected to continue. By 2020, global marketplace lending could reach almost a half trillion dollars, Morgan Stanley reports.
