I am a big proponent of mechanical keyboards and have been for quite some time. They are far more durable, accurate, and reliable than the cheap bundled keyboards that usually accompany desktop systems.  They are usually relatively pricey, which gives some users pause, but for anyone that makes a living behind a keyboard or values quality components that will last through multiple upgrade cycles, a good mechanical keyboard is worth the investment.
