The era of the car that talks to its surroundings is now upon us. Audi has announced that several of its 2017 model vehicles including the Q7 and A4 will be the first in the U.S. to be equipped with vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Using the built-in LTE data modem, the cars will talk to compatible traffic light management systems to provide drivers with alerts about when upcoming signals are going to change.
