Last month for the first time, I dove in a submersible deep into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Bermuda with the Nekton XL Catlin Deep Ocean Survey. As part of the otherworldly experience, I interviewed pilot Patrick Lahey when we were 1,000 feet under the surface.
