I remember how awesome these guys used to be. I built pretty much all my railroads using furnace minecarts because they were way cheaper than powered rails. Recently I went to use one and I made a ghastly discovery… They are completely broken and unusable.

The current behavior of powered minecarts is that they launch the other cart forward, and then they immediately stop until you give it another piece of coal, causing it to go another five blocks and then stop again. But a long time ago, they actually behaved normally: when you fed it coal, it would slowly push the cart in front of it forwards until it stopped after about 1km.

Why have these awesome carts been left to die? Why can't the bugs be fixed and have the Minecart with Furnace work again?
