Jeff Dean was one of the earliest employees of the company, having joined in 1999 after receiving his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington three years earlier. He has been a prominent figure in the company’s growth, having designed and implemented much of the distributed computing infrastructure that supports most of Google’s products.
