Diversity is really important – in biology, in culture, and in energy production. The heat wave that has been hammering the United State this month demonstrated how badly we need a diverse energy mix and how lucky we were to have significant nuclear power that is unaffected by extreme weather. Gas is strapped, and wind doesn’t like heat.
