Instant messaging apps are all the rage now. It’s not been long since Facebook announced that its Messenger app had more than one billion monthly users. Telegram and WhatsApp compete to add new features, such as end-to-to encryption or self-destroying messages. In Asia, other platforms, like Wechat, are even more advanced, allowing users to perform all sorts of tasks, from planning a road trip to make cashless payments.
