TIL mending tools are taking xp even they are fully recovered
Its useful if you dont wanna wait in your xp farm too much. Simply take off your clothes (dont be so shy) and repair your picaxe with that way. I dont mean you are loosing xp, just saying that compared to full mending equipped vs non except picaxe or whatever you want it is faster.
