Motorola Moto Z And Moto Z Force Demonstrate True Modular Smartphone Innovation

Concepts of the modular smartphone have been in the works for some time now but they were either very forward-looking, like Google’s Project Ara (aka Phonebloks), or half-baked (frankly like LG’s G5, in my opinion). Motorola, on the other hand, in conjunction with its parent company Lenovo, has designed and built what looks to be a very solid platform for modular smartphone expansion with the introduction of the new Moto Z and Moto Z Force Droid smartphones. The Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droids for Verizon are premium Android devices built on Qualcomm’s very powerful Snapdragon 820 platform, but it’s not their sleek, super-thin, (Moto Z claims to be the world’s thinnest) premium designs that make them stand out in a crowded market, it’s the Lenovo-Motorola patented attachment system on the rear of the devices that makes all the magic happen.
