3D technology will likely dominate memory and processor developments over the next few years and likely include not just conventional SRAM, DRAM and flash memory but also new memory technologies such as MRAM, 3D XPoint (Phase Change Memory) and Resistive RAM (RRAM). In the long run though, smaller features will limit ultimate solid-state technology development until we can develop technologies where the current limitations become features of future quantum mechanical memory and processing devices.
