When LeBron James took his talents to South Beach six years ago, many NBA insiders predicted the Miami Heat would kill the NBA’s competitive balance. It didn’t quite happen, as I wrote in Kill Screen four years ago, but LeBron’s decision to form a super team with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh did kill competitive balance in NBA 2K. To put it simply: any remotely decent player had an insane advantage when using the digital Heat in NBA 2K12-2K14.
