The chain falls far outside of the automaker’s largest consumer base, with locations only in Mid-Atlantic states and Ohio — hardly hot beds of electric vehicle adoption. But there’s a key reason why Tesla might be more interested in placing Superchargers at Sheetz stations rather than the typical Vallero or Shell outlet on the West Coast.
