Although it’s possible to zoom in on a scene when taking a photo with your smartphone, all you’re actually doing is digitally cropping the scene. The image you end up taking is at a lower resolution than if you had used the full area of your smartphone’s camera sensor. Fortunately there is an alternative. By using a snap-on lens you can increase the magnification of your phone’s camera lens and hopefully produce an image that gets you closer to your subject without losing resolution.
