Flash memory is finding its way into more and more consumer, industrial and enterprise applications. These applications will have different effective requirements for storage capacity (usually at a certain price point), endurance and data retention. Effectively managing and trading-off these three important flash memory characteristics to meet the needs of particular applications will be crucial for flash memory manufacturers and application designers.
