Maybe I’m fanatical, but I scan every document I want to keep. Bank statements, invoices, receipts, tax paperwork, you name it. In fact, I was doing this even before desktop scanners were available to the masses — faxing documents to my email address. I realized one day that fax machines did nothing more than scan the document before sending it electronically. So I figured, why not send the images to my email rather than another fax machine. I was hooked.
