The 2016 Atlantic hurricane season is cooking. Meteorologists are watching what may become the second named storm of the season. The National Hurricane Center, at the time of writing, just announced that they will be issuing advisories on Tropical Depression 2 and will place the South Carolina coast under Tropical Storm Warnings. If named, the storm would be “Bonnie” because Hurricane Alex happened back in January. Remember that? As we gear up for the tropical season, you will begin to see “Spaghetti Plots” on social media and television stations. As we approach June 1st (the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season), it useful to offer a few cautionary notes about those often used communication tools.
