After a few years of tentative steps, it looks like the juggernaut Call of Duty franchise is finally jumping into the world of science fiction whole hog. We’ve seen neural implants, exosuits, advanced drones, robots and even a tiny foray into space, but the arrival of a full-on spaceship in Nuketown was basically an announcement on Activision’s part: Call of Duty is going far into the future this time, bringing the biggest shakeup to the setting that we’ve seen since Modern Warfare. Whether there will be lasers, I do not know. I cannot speak to the presence or absence of lasers.
