Bungie Debunks ‘Destiny’ Conspiracy Theory

It was fun while it lasted. One of the more entertaining fan theories to come out of Destiny recently was almost a meta-mystery, stuck into reddit rather than the game itself. Shortly after the April update went live, a user named Rezyl Azzir appeared to have information that woudl have been nearly impossible to acquire in the time allotted, and ended a post on the Destiny subreddit with a cryptic latin message that translated to: “The twentieth day of the ninth month. IT is coming. Forward, to the stars.” Fans intereprested this combination of cryptic hint with prescient knowledge to mean that Rezyl Azzir was in fact the hidden identity of a Bungie employee dropping hints in plain sight. Turns out, not true. From the weekly update:
“Oh, and hey. Rezyl Azzir is not one of us. We cannot confirm nor can we decipher these riddles. It’s a mystery to us as well. Fun stuff, though. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, don’t worry about it. If you do, enjoy the speculation.”
