I’ll be honest: it baffles me to see how ubiquitous the iPhone has become worldwide, and China’s particular deifying of the thing — it’s considered a status symbol there, especially among China’s vapid super rich kids — has me constantly rolling my eyes. I understood the iPhone love back in 2008, or 2010, when they were undeniably the best and most innovative smartphones on the market. But Android makers have caught up, and in 2016, you can get a phone that is just as well-built, has twice the power, and does a million more things for less cash. The iPhone craze is herd mentality.
