Dark Souls 3 does not waste any time. No sooner than you create a character, go through a few basic tutorials and just begin to get your feet in this new game that you’re thrown into combat against the first boss: Ludex Gundyr. He’s still part of the tutorial, naturally, and so he’s meant to teach you about how to apply what you’ve just learned when facing a much larger enemy than what you learned it on. But he’s terribly nasty for a tutorial, and you can’t even upgrade your character before him. Here’s how to make it out of the thing alive.
