In a recent interview, former PlayStation director of strategic content Shahid Kamal Ahmad thought that backwards compatibility is not worth it, as it wouldn?t be really used. If you want to charge new money for old rope, then this argument makes some sense but it also misses the point of what this feature actually does offer.
