Microsoft: An Xbox One And A Half Isn’t Likely

While rumors and reports of a Playstation 4.5 capable of outputting 4K games (called a PS4k, I’m betting) seem about a solid as they can be barring an official announcement, one tends to forget that we started thinking about the concept of an upgradeable hardware generation after some remarks by Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer. He suggested that the company was working toward an upgradeable console on a continuum in closer step with the rest of the technological landscape. He’s since walked back some of that, saying that by no means did he imagine people would be taking screwdrivers to their consoles and installing new cards like in a PC. Speaking to Gamespot at the Microsoft Build conference, he also said he didn’t expect there to be some sort of an “Xbox One and a Half.”
