Now that Tesla has finally revealed, the Model 3, I can happily say that I was wrong on at least two major points in my recent column on how much the company’s first affordable electric car would actually cost. However, given that the Model 3 is actually close to two years away from customer deliveries (if not longer) CEO Elon Musk left many questions still unanswered. Tesla’s long-term viability as a stand-alone business also remains far from certain despite the automaker receiving more than 115,000 pre-orders in the first 24 hours.
