Here Are 63 Other Cases Where The Government Asked For Help To Unlock A Smartphone

The ACLU has identified at least 63 cases in which the government has relied on the All Writs Act to force Apple or Google to help it gain access to locked devices. The disclosure comes one day after a judge in the high-profile San Bernardino shooting case threw out a similar order that would have forced Apple to write software to bypass encryption features on the iPhone.
