The PS4 is an x86 machine, and it looks more like a PC than any Playstation before it. A move like this would just complete the puzzle. As with PC games today, developers would just make their games with graphics settings, and people would be able to select which version they wanted to play depending on which machine they were playing it on. And developers, theoretically, would just need to make two settings rather than the range of cusomization options most PC games come with. So they’d be the same games, essentially, just one game would have 4k textures and maybe some better volumetric fog and particle effects.
