For decades now, one of the most important moneymakers for many musicians—especially those that haven’t quite made it to the big leagues just yet—is merchandise sales, with a big percentage of them taking place at concerts. After a show, many people decide that they want to make a spur of the moment purchase of something that will remind them of the fun they had at the concert and that will confirm them as a fan of the act that just walked off stage. That’s awesome for the musician, but the actual experience of buying merchandise at a show is extremely flawed.
