That’s not a play on words or a pun in the headline referencing Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. In fact I’ve been testing and benchmarking the stuffing out of a Samsung Galaxy S7 (non-Edge variant) all week and so far the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC (System on Chip) that powers it, along with its 4GB of RAM config, seems to surpass the iPhone 6S and Apple A9 in many of the standard tests I’m running. The picture is becoming clearer with every test loop; the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that powers Samsung’s latest Galaxy is potent, especially when it comes to multithreaded processing and graphics. However, there’s a bit of nuance here and a definite hat-tip I’ll toss Apple’s way, for the way the iPhone 6S has held up under pressure in the test runs I’ve completed thus far.
