There’s something interesting inside of The Division. On one level, it’s a fairly standard third-person shooter, albeit with some RPG mechanics and a loot system on top of it. It’s pretty, no doubt, and it’s a competent execution of a lot of these ideas in a MMO-lite environment. Still, there’s nothing here you haven’t seen before, especially if you’ve played some of Ubisoft’s other games. You do your side missions, you raise your level, you flank around for a better shot. Rinse and repeat. But then, there’s The Dark Zone. And The Dark Zone is pretty cool.
