Phil Spencer has had some interesting things to say about the future of Xbox recently. In short, he wants to turn the Xbox One from a static product to a shifting one, offering hardware upgrades throughout its lifespan and, theoretically, eliminating the concept of hardware generations. It’s a bold concept from Microsoft, even if it’s not exactly a new one. We don’t have any specifics on how it would work, but the concept itself has got a whole lot of problems. And ultimately, it would just hand more and more of the space to Sony’s already dominant PS4.
