Shenmue 3 is a game, and it’s actually happening. Yu Suzuki and Sony announced plans for a quickly-funded Shenmue 3 Kickstarter campaign less than a year ago at E3, but we’re already getting screenshots in as the development process continues.  Suzuki and Ys Net sent them to backers and showed them off alongside some footage at the Monaco Anime Games International Conference last weekend. They show some images of opening area Bailu village rendered in the modern era, with every bit of that dreamy countryside feel you might be hoping for. Check some out, via Eurogamer.
