In what seems like ages, we’re now seeing indicators that Microsoft is bringing highly competitive innovation to the notebook and desktop computing space versus their chief rival Apple, so much so that Apple is seemingly beginning to take cues from Microsoft. Now before the passionate Forbes Apple fan base comes out of the woodwork screaming “blaspheme,” I would like to remind you of three key innovations that Microsoft Windows 10 currently has on the PC platform that Mac OS X simply does not at this point in time: Voice Search/AI Assist, Touch Interface and Facial Recognition. These innovations have undeniable value on a PC platform, though they obviously have varying value to each specific user depending on daily usage models. Also, at least two of these features (Siri and Touch) currently exist in iOS but Apple hasn’t seen fit quite yet to bringing them to the OS X, though the usual unconfirmed rumors are swirling around about at least Siri making the jump.
