The second major player in modern VR’s first year is entering the ring. The HTC Vive goes ons ale for pre-order at Monday, February 29th for a whopping $799, proving once again that entrance into this nascent moment of VR is not going to come cheap. That’s $200 more than the Oculus Rift at $600, and assumedly more than Playstation VR, which has yet to receive either a release date or a price. Oculus Rift units seemed to be moving pretty fast as soon as Facebook opened them up for pre-order, so it will be interesting to see what happens when Vive goes live.
