Hackers Brought Down Ukrainian Power Grid In December, Homeland Security ICS-CERT Confirms

In late December of last year, a large number of Ukrainians were left without power, due to unscheduled outages at a trio of power companies. It wasn’t clear what brought down the power grid at the time, but the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team, in conjunction with a number of other authorities, has since confirmed that it was a cyber-attack that was responsible.
