If you’ve got the notion to get in on the semi-dystopian blockbuster shooter action but aren’t quite ready to make the plunge on a full purchase — or even a limited one — you can try Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for free on Steam this weekend. The free weekend only applies to the multiplayer starter pack: a stripped down version of the game that includes neither the co-op zombies mode nor the single-player campaign. Also missing are prestige levels, mod tools and custom multiplayer games. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 made some interesting changes to the standard multiplayer formula, and it’s worth checking out, especially for free.
