Liberty Global and Vodafone Group agreed to combine their Dutch entities into the country’s second-biggest operator with a quadruple play offering. It is a sober assessment after the bonanza years and offers a sound basis for consolidation in the Netherlands and beyond. Yet the problem remains that the infrastructure is only as good as the service and content provided.
