Last month, 4chan started posting about a game called “Assassin’s Creed: Empire,” set in ancient Egypt. The twist? It wasn’t going to be released in 2016, and Ubisoft was going to take a year off from the franchise. Kotaku corroborated that report with inside sources, and today Ubisoft has made the official declaration: There will be no Assassin’s Creed in 2016.
