Could A Gel Skullcap Help Make Football Safer?

In recent weeks, stories about football-related brain injuries have seemed to become a bit louder than usual. The Will Smith movie, Concussion—about the NFL’s efforts to muffle research about the degenerative brain disease caused by trauma known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or C.T.E.—has been in the theaters since Christmas. This week, the New York Times reported that former Giants player, Tyler Sash—who died of a drug overdose at age 27—had a rather severe case of C.T.E. And, of course, the upcoming Super Bowl on February 7th, brings even more attention to the issue.
