If Toshiba were to exit the HDD business it would leave Seagate Technology and Western Digital as the only remaining HDD companies. It is interesting to note that at the same time that Toshiba might exit HDDs, that the two other HDD companies are trying to position themselves as players in the enterprise SSD business.
