New Group Of Materials Could Drive Down The Cost Of Our Smartphones

On an average morning, I rely heavily on my phone. It is my alarm clock, my source of music in the shower, my source of weather information informing my outfit choice for the day, and my means of checking to see quite how delayed my journey to work will be! In order for these touchscreen wonders to work, the screens are usually made of glass coated in a material that is both transparent and conductive. Most conductive materials are metals, which are not transparent. It is however possible to achieve both conduction and optical transparency with another type of material; ceramics.
