The tech world got a moment of sticker shock yesterday when the Oculus Rift finally went up for pre-order. Many had been expecting something in the $350-$400 range, and a lot of people who were already imagining themselves stretching to make that found themselves more than a little disappointed at the actual retail price of $600. That doesn’t mean Facebook is making a profit, however. Here’s Oculus inventor Palmer Luckey on Twitter:
